For my site: TennesseeHomesForSale.com an internet marketing skill I used was creating a bunch of pages with different cities.

For a great example view these:

First I add a "Learn" link on the home page.

Second you add sub pages that will make it so those looking at your site can easily access the city their looking for!

A great example is the following list placed below Major Cities:

Southern California Homes

When it came to marketing my Southern California Homes site, my boss earlier had put me in charge of California Homes and so I made a sub domain for the southern!

This is important because since CaliforniaHomesForSale.com already was ranking in google, I could make a subdomain that was going to rank faster than buying a totally new domain, and cheaper too!

To do this you simply go into your cpanel of your host and add a sub domain and BAM!

http://southern.californiahomesforsale.com

This is nice because then the sub pages that I add like:

Orange County Homes
Los Angeles Homes
Carlsbad Homes
Temecula Homes for Sale

& they automatically will get more traffic just being connected to CaliforniaHomesForSale.com

South Bay CA Real Estate Hotlink Map

My South Bay California Homes for Sale site is helped out a lot by me creating a hotlink map!

On the right hand side you'll see a map, leading to different parts of the site, showing listings and other stuff like that! How do you make a hotlink map?

I used programs: Photoshop and then Fireworks! It's super easy!
1- make the map in Photoshop
2- take the picture into Fireworks and add the hotlinks! Easy as that! Now the map shows links to sites such as:

Los Angeles Homes by clicking on "Los Angeles"
Harbor City Homes by clicking on "Harbor City"
Rancho Palos Verdes Homes by Clicking on "Rancho Palos Verdes"
Palos Verdes Homes by clicking on "Palos Verdes"
Manhattan Beach Homes by clicking on "Manhattan Beach" and much more!!

This helps the buyer easily select the city because the south bay area is HUGE!

My Denver site ranks really high in google really fast! This one was all due to the length my boss owned the URL, I believe. We also have been doing a lot of link building.

They're for the same marketing name: Denver Homes for sale. We found out by using the Google Adword Keyword tool. Use it to find out what keywords you need to try and optimize the site for!

It's important to have a lot of URLS that link to one another. For example, see how I put links on the right side of each page, linking to the others.
